Expatriate Services
General Overview
The Employment Pass (EP) is a work permit that enables an expatriate to take up employment with an organisation registered in Labuan IBFC. The pass is subject to the contract of employment (up to 60 months). The Labuan Financial Services Authority (“Labuan FSA”) must give approval for the foreign talent to fill a position before the issuance of an expatriate Employment Pass can be made by the Immigration Department of Malaysia in Labuan (“the Immigration”).
The expatriate is eligible to bring his/her dependents and such application shall be submitted to the Immigration. The children of the expatriate with the dependent pass can apply for a permit to study in Malaysia.

Expatriate Pass

Providing information in relation to the terms and conditions set out by the Labuan FSA and or the Immigration and the requisite documents in respect of the EP Application

Providing one (1) sponsor for the EP Application
-
Vetting the documents in respect of the EP Application
-
Conducting due diligence on the applicant(s) and individual(s) mentioned in the EP Application
-
Submitting the EP Application to the Labuan FSA for obtaining the approval in principal and/or recommendation letter (“Preliminary Approval”)
-
Liaising with the Labuan FSA on the EP Application
-
Arranging payment of requisite fees payable to the Labuan FSA

Upon obtaining Preliminary Approval from the Labuan FSA, proceed to submit the EP Application to the Immigration

Liaising and arranging appointment with the Immigration

Dependent Pass ("DP")

Providing information on the requirements and documents required for the DP Application

Preparing the requisite documents for the DP Application

Vetting the documents in respect of the DP Application

Liaising and arrange appointment with the Immigration

Arranging payment and endorsement of the Dependent Pass
Who Can Apply? Spouse, children below 18 years old and legally adopted children under 21 years old
Duration of DP: Follow the validity of the EP holder

Long Term Social Visit Pass ("LPS")

Providing information on the requirements and documents required for the PLS Application

Preparing the requisite documents for the PLS Application

Vetting the documents in respect of the PLS Application

Liaising and arrange appointment with the Immigration

Arranging payment and endorsement of the Social Visit Pass
Who Can Apply? Common-law spouse (unmarried), parents, parents-in-law children above 21 years old and legally adopted children above 21 years old
Duration of PLS: Follow the validity of the EP holder
Duration of PLS: One (1) year
