What visa options are available for Labuan company directors?

Directors of Labuan-registered companies may apply for a Labuan Employment Pass. The application is submitted through Labuan FSA. Once Labuan FSA approves the application, it proceeds to the Immigration Department of Malaysia for processing. The pass allows the holder to reside in Malaysia for its duration and travel freely in and out of the country. The validity period is typically two years, renewable (Labuan FSA generally recommends a two year work permit).

What is the Long Term Social Visit Pass and who qualifies?

The Long Term Social Visit Pass is for family members who do not meet the criteria for a Dependent Pass. Eligible applicants include common-law spouses, parents and parents-in-law, children above 21, and legally adopted children above 21. It follows the validity of the Employment Pass holder's pass, or is issued for one year. We prepare and submit the full application and manage all correspondence with the Immigration Department on your behalf.

How do I apply for an employment pass through a Labuan company?

The employment pass application for a Labuan company director or employee is submitted through Labuan FSA. The Labuan entity must be in good standing with Labuan FSA and demonstrate a genuine operational need for the position. Once Labuan FSA approves the application, it proceeds to the Immigration Department for processing. Can I live in Kuala Lumpur with a Labuan employment pass?

Many Employment Pass holders choose to live in Kuala Lumpur or other parts of peninsular Malaysia. This is possible when the Labuan entity has an approved marketing office or co-located office outside Labuan, as required by Labuan FSA. Without such approval, the work permit holder's residential address must be in Labuan. We handle the marketing office application as part of the overall setup and advise on the full arrangement from the start.
